Machinery Services, Training and Mechanization Section

WORK AREA

This section has an area of ​​1.6 hectares. Area components consist of offices, repair workshops, infrastructure workshops and machinery garages. The section's work area involves the entire TPU and UPM areas, especially work involving the use of farm machinery/equipment.
  
MACHINERY/IMPLEMENT
This Section has various farm machineries and implements to support UPM's teaching, research and services requirements.  Among the farm machineries and implements are as follows:

1. heavy machineries - 3 unit
2. farm machineries - 18 unit
3. industrial machineries - 2 unit
4. vehicle - 4x4 - 7 unit
5. pump and farm implements
6. small machineries
7. canopy 

 
  
TEACHING SUPPORTS

This Section assists in conducting several courses offered by the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Engineering.  The courses are as follows:

1. TKP 3003 Farm Practice: Farm Mechanization
2. TKP 3501 Agricultural Mechanization
3. KBP 3308 Soil and Water Conservation 

RESEARCH SUPPORTS

1. Assist the Department of Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Engineering to test the efficiency of farming tools such as corn planting machinery.
2. Assist research for Precision Agriculture.
       

OTHER SERVICES
 
This Section provides the use of vehicles and agriculture machineries, farm implements, canopy etc.  Rental rates for the services (and selling prices for other farm products) are as attached (if applicable).
