UAP-UPM EQUINE CENTER, PUSAT EKUIN UPM, SERDANG, 25 Julai 2019 – UAP – UPM Equine Center has recently been visited by the participants made up of 102 medical students from the Asian Collaborative Training on Infectious Disease Outbreaks, Natural Disasters, and Refugee Management (ACTION 2019) program. This program is held annually worldwide and Malaysia through Universiti Malaya (UM) has been chosen to host this year program that was attended by medical students from all over the world.

One of the modules in this program is a visit to an animal facility and its relation to One Health and UAP was honoured to be chosen as the venue for this particular module. An-hour talk regarding the association of humans and animals pertaining zoonotic diseases transmission in the context of One Health was given by the Deputy Director of UAP, Associate Professor Dr Mohd Hezmee Mohd Noor followed by a Q & A session assisted by UAP personnel Dr Muhammad Azrolharith Rashid, Mr Helmi Azro Mohd Hassan and Mr Mohamad Nur Firdaus Mad Wazir.

At the end of the program, participants have the opportunity to approach the horses and to take photographs. The management of UAP is hopeful that the briefing given during the event is beneficial for the participants and could be used as references for managing potential event of zoonotic disease outbreaks in their respective countries.
