CROP SECTION

 

INTRODUCTION

The Crop Section (BTA) is a large section covering almost half of the Putra Agricultural Center area. The Plant Section has five (5) units consisting of the Vegetable Unit, the Agrotechnology Unit, the Farm Plant Unit, the Industrial Plant Unit and the Fruit Unit. This section is led by a Section Head, assisted by five Agriculture Officers as Unit Heads, while under him there are several areas coordinated by Assistant Agriculture Officers.

OBJECTIVE

The Plant Section is responsible for the plant management process to support the teaching and research activities of students and staff. Activities are carried out such as identifying plant types, planting areas, fertilization, maintenance, harvesting and post-harvest by carrying out activities in accordance with the requirements of Malaysian Good Agricultural Practices (MyGAP).
