Avian and Animal Feed Mangement Unit

(Chicken, Quail and Duck) 

Routine activities in avian livestock management include cleaning of poultry houses, feeding, weighing, administering vaccines, slaughtering, record management, treatment for sick livestock, and more.

  1. Supporting UPM's goals in teaching, research, and practical training for UPM students.
  2. Enabling the university to conduct ongoing teaching activities related to quail, chickens, and ducks.
  3. Allowing the university to generate revenue through egg production, livestock sales, and educational park visits.

 

Routine activities in livestock feed management include area cleaning, fresh grass cutting, supplementary feed production such as silage, fertilization, weeding, and handling classes and practicals.

  1. Supporting UPM's goals in teaching, research, and practical training for UPM students.
  2. Providing grazing areas for ruminant livestock, including dairy cattle, beef cattle, deer, and goats.
  3. Providing cut fodder from cutting and transport areas and delivering it to the feedlot, dairy cattle, cattle in the yard, deer, and goats areas.
  4. Providing practical training facilities for students of the Farm Practice Course (SHW 3003), as well as research areas for researchers interested in pasture crop studies.
  5. Aiming to be a model farm to be visited by students and visitors from outside.
